YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO A CASH PAYMENT FROM A CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT IF YOU SCANNED YOUR HAND FOR TIMEKEEPING PURPOSES WHILE WORKING FOR 815 PALLETS, INC. IN ILLINOIS BETWEEN MARCH 26, 2018, AND DECEMBER 10, 2019.
A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit, Taylor v. 815 Pallets Inc., No. 2020-CH-03013, pending in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois before the Honorable Judge Joel Chupack. The Settlement would resolve a lawsuit brought on behalf of persons who allege that 815 Pallets, Inc. (“Defendant”) required its employees to provide a scan of their hand for timekeeping purposes without first providing them with legally required written disclosures and obtaining written consent. If you received a notice in the mail, you have been identified as someone who may have used Defendant’s timekeeping system in Illinois between March 26, 2018, and December 10, 2019. The Court has granted preliminary approval of the Settlement and has conditionally certified the Settlement Class for purposes of settlement only. The Notice explains the nature of the class action lawsuit, the terms of the Settlement, and the legal rights and obligations of the Settlement Class Members.
Please read the Notice carefully so that you can better understand your legal rights.
